The smartphone brand Nokia now made a big comeback at the Mobile World Congress 2017 tradeshow in Barcelona, Spain. The company also launched four other smartphones, including the global version of Nokia 6 smartphone. The handset was launched in China last month. In addition, the company launched Nokia 5, Nokia 6 and Nokia 3 smartphones. All smartphones will come with Android 7.1 Nougat out of the box.
The company launched a slew of Android smartphones and relaunched one of its most popular handset the Nokia 3310. The feature phone has been launched with the same moniker but with some big upgrades.
The new Nokia smartphones come with pure Android OS and will come with Google Assistant built-in. The Nokia 6 starts at EUR229 (roughly Rs 16,100). It’s special edition costs EUR299 (roughly Rs 21,000). The Nokia 5 will cost EUR189 (roughly Rs 13,300) while the Nokia 3 will be priced at EUR139 (roughly Rs 9,700). The Nokia 6 is the most powerful .The Nokia 6 sports a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) resolution display. The Nokia 5 and Nokia 3 smartphones come with 5.2-inch and 5-inch displays respectively.
The Nokia 6 by HMD Global supports dual-SIM cards. It has a 5.5-inch full-HD (1080×1920 pixels) resolution display with 2.5D curved glass coating and Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The smartphone is powered by an octa-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 processor along with Adreno 505 GPU and 4GB LPDDR3 RAM. On the storage front, the Nokia 6 comes with an inbuilt 64GB storage, which can expanded via a microSD card up to 128GB.
On optics front, Nokia 6 is powered by a 16MP rear camera with dual-tone LED flash, Phase Detection Autofocus and f/2.0 aperture. There is also an 8MP front-facing camera with 84-degree wide angle lens and f/2.0 aperture. The 4G LTE -supporting Nokia 6 comes with Bluetooth v4.1, GPS, USB OTG and Wi-Fi as connectivity options and packs a 3000mAh battery. The smartphone measures 154 x 75.8 x 7.8mm, has dual speakers powered by Dolby Atmos tech, 3.5mm headphone jack and a fingerprint sensor at the front on the home button.
The Nokia 5 has a 5.2-inch display and sports a 6000-series Aluminium built. It will come in four colour variants – Tempered Blue, Copper, Black and Silver. The smartphone comes with 2GB RAM and 16GB inbuilt. Qualcomm Snapdragon 430 will be powering the smartphone. The Android 7.1 Nougat-based handset has a 13MP rear camera and an 8MP front-facing camera.
The Nokia 3 features the same built as the Nokia 5, but has a smaller 5-inch display. The handset sports an 8MP front and back camera sensor. Powered by the quad-core MediaTek MT6737, the Nokia 3 sports a polycarbonate back along with an aluminium frame.
The Nokia 3310 runs Series 30+ and features a 2.4-inch QVGA display. There will also be a 2MP camera along with a microSD card slot. The feature phone is said to offer 22 hours talk time and one-month standby time. The device also includes the popular Snake game, upgraded version. The phone now comes in variety of colour options – Yellow, Grey, Blue and Red. The handset is now also slimmer than its previous avatar.
HMD, the company that has exclusive rights to manufacture Nokia handsets, said that Nokia 3310 will hit the retail shelves in the second-quarter of this year. The smartphone is priced at 49 euros, roughly Rs 3,400.
